I Know What I Carry Into the Room
October 26, 2026

I do not walk into rooms empty-handed.
I carry every room that taught me.
Every responsibility that strengthened me.
Every decision that required me to trust what God placed inside me before anyone else could see where it was leading.
For years, I have been building.
A career.
A family.
A book I carried long before the finished pages could be held.
Woman Enlightened, which began as a vision and kept asking me to become more precise about what it was here to do.
An experience designed to bring women into a room where purpose could be discussed honestly, without requiring anyone to arrive with her whole life figured out.
None of that happened because I stood outside waiting to feel impressive enough.
It happened because I kept learning.
I kept deciding.
I kept returning to the work.
I prayed.
I listened.
I adjusted.
And then I moved.
There was a time when I thought entering a new room meant proving I deserved to be there.
I know better now.
I do not need to recite my entire history every time I cross a threshold.
I do not need to make myself smaller so no one mistakes confidence for arrogance.
I do not need to hide the work it took to become the woman standing there.
Humility does not require amnesia.
I can remember what God brought me through.
I can name what I have built.
I can acknowledge what I know.
I can remain teachable without pretending I arrived with nothing.
That is the difference I feel now.
I am not entering the room to ask it who I am.
I already know.
I am a woman who can hold vision and responsibility at the same time.
I can lead in my corporate life and still protect the life waiting for me at home.
I can write the book, build the platform, plan the gathering, question what is not working, and make the next decision without surrendering the parts of me that matter most.
I can accept support without giving away authority.
I can listen without losing my voice.
I can be warm without becoming easy to dismiss.
I can be kind without abandoning the standard.
I know what I carry into the room.
I carry evidence that I can begin before every answer is available.
I carry the discipline to keep working when the vision is still private.
I carry the wisdom earned through revisions, failures, rebuilding, and trying again.
I carry a faith that does not excuse me from preparation. It calls me to prepare with intention and then trust God with what preparation cannot control.
I carry love for women who are still learning how much authority belongs inside their own voices.
And I carry the responsibility to use what I know in service of something larger than being noticed.
That is why I no longer confuse a new room with a verdict.
The room does not get to decide whether my journey counted.
The invitation does not create my value.
The title does not manufacture my authority.
The opportunity gives me a place to use what life has already formed.
So I will enter with gratitude.
I will enter ready to learn.
I will enter prepared to contribute.
And I will not leave my strength at the door just to make my presence easier for someone else to receive.
I know what I carry into the room.
I know Who carried me here.
And I am ready to use it well.
That's part of my Herformation.
