Fear Has Never Held the Keys

September 28, 2026

A confident woman stands at an open doorway with light ahead beneath the title Fear Has Never Held the Keys.

I have always lived my life with a certain kind of fearlessness.

Not because I was never scared.

That is not what fearlessness means to me.

Fearlessness does not mean fear never enters the room.

It means fear does not get to hold the keys.

For as long as I can remember, I have known something about myself.

If I believe something is mine to pursue, I am going after it.

I may have to learn.

I may have to fail.

I may have to start over.

I may have to look at what did not work and tell myself the truth.

But I am still going.

Try.

Fail.

Try again.

Learn.

Adjust.

Succeed.

And if success does not come the way I expected, I am still paying attention to what the process taught me.

That has always been part of how I move.

Not reckless.

Not careless.

Not because I believe every door should open just because I walked up to it.

But because I have never believed fear was qualified to decide my future.

Fear can inform me.

It can tell me where I need preparation.

It can tell me where the risk is real.

It can tell me where I need wisdom, prayer, counsel, or a stronger plan.

But fear does not get the final vote.

I think that is where some people misunderstand confident women.

They see the decision and assume there was no fear.

They see the movement and assume there was no cost.

They see the result and assume the beginning was easy.

It usually was not.

I have stepped into things while my heart was beating fast.

I have made decisions without having every answer.

I have started before the room fully understood what I was building.

I have had to believe in a way before the way was visible.

And I have learned that courage is not always loud.

Sometimes courage is simply refusing to let fear become an instruction.

There is a difference between being warned and being stopped.

There is a difference between counting the cost and surrendering the call.

There is a difference between wisdom and hiding.

I want to live in that difference.

Because the life I am building requires movement.

The work I am called to do requires movement.

The woman I am becoming requires movement.

So I will keep trying.

I will keep learning.

I will keep failing forward when failure has something to teach me.

I will keep adjusting when wisdom asks for a better way.

And I will keep going after what I know is mine, not because fear disappeared, but because fear was never the authority.

That's part of my Herformation.

And maybe...

yours too.
